Awakening Bangkok is a lighting installation festival that gathers several local artists in the old quarter of the capital. Awakening Bangkok 2021/22 is the fourth iteration of the festival, but the first time there will be a daytime show and the first time it will be organized in five locations throughout the year.
The festival is being held from March 25th – April 3rd, 2022 at 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Charoenkrung and Talat Noi, extending all the way to Soi Nana Yaowarat. The festival will be held under the concept of “RE:VIVE” with the intention to portray that “lights play a part in ‘reviving’ the life and interest of the old city of Bangkok.”
The festival features an exhibition of more than 50 art installations by local artists, a digital mapping showcase courtesy of GrabFood, fine-dining events by five famous Thai chefs, and a food market featuring famous restaurants.
Here are some of the works from Thai artists that will be displayed at the festival:
“Everyday We Live Our Lives” by Milkcarton X KIMBAB 🙂 at Prince Theater Heritage Stay.
“Bloom” by TYJ at Bangrak Riverview.
For those who cannot attend the upcoming Awakening Bangkok 2021/22 at Charoenkrung, Talat Noi, and Soi Nana, later events will be scheduled nationwide as follows:
