Visa and Certificate of Entry Procedures for Non-Thai Nationals wishing to enter the Kingdom of Thailand for tourism purposes (Tourist Visa (TR) - Single Entry)

    The Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran wishes to announce that Non-Thai Nationals residing in Iran who wish to travel to Thailand for Tourism purposes are now able to apply for a Tourist Visa (TR - Single Entry) and an online Certificate of Entry (COE). Requirements and procedures are as follows:

  1. Required documents for Thai tourist visa.

          1.1 Copy of reservation document for Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) facilities or Alternative Local Quarantine (ALQ) facilities for a period of 14 days from the date of arrival. List of ASQs and ALQs can be found at www.hsscovid.com.

          1.2 Copy of flight booking to Thailand.  Date of arrival should be the same as that of check-in date specified in the ASQ/ ALQ reservation.

          1.3 Copy of Insurance policy written in English covering healthcare and treatment expenses for COVID-19 for the whole duration of being in Thailand with coverage of no less than $100,000 USD;

          1.4 Completed Visa Application Form;

          1.5 Copy of the applicant’s passport (valid at least six months from the expected date of arrival in Thailand);

          1.6 A 3.5 x 4.5 cm white or blue background photography; and

          1.7 Proof of finance with the sufficient amount to cover the whole period if stay i.e. bank statement in the past 6 months.

     Please note that following the restrictive measures announced by the Iranian Government due to the current COVID-19 epidemic situation, the consular section of the Royal Thai Embassy opens from Monday to Thursday between 09.30-12.00 hrs. and 13.00-15.00 hrs. and receives ONLY applicants who have made appointment in advance (no walk-ins). Appointment and further inquiries can be made by contacting the Embassy at Tel. 021 77531433, 021 7537705 Ext. 117, 122.    

  1. Issuance of Certificate of Entry (COE).

          2.1 Complete the online application for Certificate of Entry (COE) at https://coethailand.mfa.go.th at least 14 days before the date of intended departure. The COE contains information on Name/ Nationality/ Passport Number/ Flight Number/ Arrival date/ and ASQ of each traveler.

          2.2 The COE will be issued only to applicants who have valid Thai visas. Those who are without valid Thai visas need to apply for one prior to applying for the COE. 

          2.3 In addition to the Visas, applicants for the COE will be asked to also submitted following documents:

               (1) a medical certificate and laboratory RT-PCR result in English indicating that COVID-19 is not detected.  The certificate should be issued no more than 72 hours before the date of travel, and

               (2) a Fit to Fly Health Certificate in English issued no more than 72 hours before the date of travel.

           2.4 Upon arrival, travelers with TR visa will be permitted to stay in Thailand for the purpose of tourism for a period of not exceeding 60 days. Those who wish to stay longer or change their type of visa shall submit their request to the Office of Immigration Bureau of Thailand (http://www.immigration.go.th).

      Please note that Thailand is in the National State of Emergency to fight against COVID-19 epidemic, those who enter Thailand must strictly comply with the National Disease Prevention Measures.
