Measures Imposed by the Royal Thai Government
regarding the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
for Travellers from the Islamic Republic of Iran

                   With reference to the announcement of World Health Organization characterizing the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) as pandemic, and the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health of the Kingdom of Thailand RE: Territories outside the Kingdom of Thailand defined as Disease Infected Zones of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak B.E. 2563 (2020), which defined the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the “Disease Infected Zones of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak,” and the Notification of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand on Practical Guideline for the Air Operators Relating to the Services to be Provided in the Territories outside Thailand Defined as Disease Infected Zones of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Outbreak,

                  The Royal Thai Government has imposed measures regarding the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) for travellers from the Islamic Republic of Iran as follows:  

                  1. Temporary suspension of visa issuance, starting from 9 March 2020 until the situation has returned to normal.
                  2. Voiding of all visas that have been issued from 1 February 2020 until 11 March 2020.
                  3. All persons travelling to the Kingdom of Thailand  from the Islamic Republic of Iran are required to present the following documents to the airlines for the issuance of boarding pass:

                      (a) Health Certificate (Medical Certificate) certifying that the passenger has no sickness in the past fourteen days;
                      (b) Health Certificate certifying laboratory testing with negative result for COVID-19 issued within forty-eight hours prior to departure (suggested form attached);
                      (c) Health Insurance document that must be covered in Thailand with an insurance coverage value of at least 100,000.- US dollars.

                  4. Thai Nationals are exempted from having to provide documents mentioned in 3 (b) and 3 (c).
